Eliminator Finale!

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

As we come to the last weekend of the NFL regular season, we also come to the last week of our annual ILM Eliminator pool. In a stunning turn of events (specifically the Vikings beating the Eagles!), what we thought would be an amazing finish for multiple contestants finishing the year with NO wrong picks and 6 people vying for the money, we now have just a 4-way tie (all with 1 wrong each!). Here’s a look at the finalists:

dmbmtc (M. Collier)- After getting his first loss in week 10, he has held strong as everyone else has faltered over the past 6 weeks. He has already won another Eliminator pool this week, after everyone else he was up against chose the Eagles.

Shanahan’s Got Redskin (C. Bosson)- Burned by his Eagles’ pick this week for his first loss, it will be interesting to see how he rebounds this weekend. Since he will be in Pasadena cheering on his beloved TCU Horned Frogs at the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day, hopefully if another loss is suffered on Sunday, he won’t take it too hard.

awbremer (A. Bremer)- Reigning co-champion from 2009. Also burned by his Eagles’ pick this week for his first loss, he will ALSO be in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. He, however, will be cheering on his beloved Wisconsin Badgers- let’s hope C & A don’t run into each other at the airport coming home on Sunday, as it could be a VERY rough weekend for one of them ;-)

vclindsay (V. Lindsay)- Our only remaining female and a first time competitor! Her Eagles’ pick this week unfortunately brought upon her first loss too, but I know she is looking to rebound and go into the playoffs (if even necessary!) fighting for the money.

Looking forward to what this weekend holds for the NFL- with many teams still up for playoff positions, the games should be exciting and for these 4- suspenseful.

Happy New Year’s to all- Go Badgers, Go Pack Go, and GB^2.

Cheers! AB

Eliminator

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

The 2010 NFL season has had it’s ups and downs for the fans here at InLine Media. The 49ers are 0-5, The Green Bay Packers are losing players left and right due to injury, and the poor Broncos can’t run the football 10 yards in a game. So it’s pretty fair to say the season so far has been a disappointment as fans.

However, there is something that always keeps the group alive; The ELIMINATOR. The way it works is that you choose one NFL team to win each week. If they lose, you are eliminated (for our sake when you lose twice, you are then eliminated). The catch here is that when you choose a certain team that wins, you can’t select them going forward. Fun right? Actually, it’s pretty painful. Every week you choose a certain team to win, and every week the NFL always surprises. Upsets happen. Teams that lose should win. And soon enough, people are eliminated.

So far Ann, Victoria and Chris are dominating with a perfect record. However, Rob and Bailey haven’t had much luck. They both have a loss and it’s only week 6! More so, Nancy has already been eliminated!

My advice to you all: if you want an activity for Sundays, please get into an eliminator pool. You will get hooked, trust me.

The most important question now rests with: WHO DO I PICK THIS WEEK? (suggestions are welcome)

TEBOWNED

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

With the 25th pick in the NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select….Tim Tebow, from the University of Florida.

Are people pressing the eject button or basking in glory? This is the real question that came out of Radio City Music Hall last Thursday for the 75th NFL Draft. Tim Tebow was arguably one of the most highly watched college athletes in history. With his welcoming smile and willingness to win, he has been a true influential persona on and off the field. However, how will that golden boy image reflect in the next level?

At this point in time, no one really knows. The majority are signing him off as just a “college type prospect” and his ability will not translate well in the NFL. The minority (basically the whole state of Florida), however, is behind his winning ways and are already proclaiming him the next Broncos franchise quarterback.

So what is it? Heads or Tails? Red or Black?

The corner offices favorite online radio personality proclaims that the Denver Broncos needed “eggs, milk, and meat when it came to the NFL Draft, but instead bought a $200 bottle of wine.”

For Bronco nation, let’s all hope and pray that he ages with time…
